Registry Advisory: Dual Stack (IPv6) connectivity to .IN Shared Registry System

Dear Registrars,

You may be aware that as per the Department of Telecom (DOT), Government of India roadmap for migration to IPv6 "All new registrations of .IN domain name is to be compulsorily on dual stack with effect from 1st January, 2014. The entire .IN domain should migrate to IPv6 (dual stack) latest by June 2014 as mandated by the Government.

Accordingly, .IN registry has extended support for connections to the registry hosts (EPP, WHOIS and Web) on IPv6 starting 15th May 2014 00:00 IST [14 May 2014, 18:30 UTC].

IPv6 subnets can be a combination of up to 3 subnets of /128, /64, /48. Registrars can submit IPv6 subnets as they see fit, as long as the total number of both IPv4 and IPv6 subnets stays within the limit of total 3 subnets.

Registry Advisory LA-03 to Registrars: Domains Sponsored by C-DAC

22 November 2005: The deadline for transferring names from C-DAC to other accredited registrars has been extended. The new deadline is December 31, 2005. This is to give registrants additional time to complete their transfers. Other than the revised deadline, the other aspects of NIXI's previous announcement (below) remains in effect.

Registry Advisory LA 02: Accurate WHOIS Information in Domain

Kind Attention: All Registrars,

Reference: Registry Advisory LA 02 on Accurate WHOIS Information issued at the bottom:

1. Looking at some of the recent reports on inaccurate WHOIS and proxy registrations, .IN Registry is now in the process of reviewing the entire registration base emphasising on its accuracy. Registrars are advised to immediately correct any inaccuracies they come across.

2. Further, in term of section 4.3.3, 4.3.3.1, 4.4.3 and 4.4.8 of the "Registrar Accreditation Agreement" and Section 1, 2 and 3 of the “Terms and Conditions for Registrants", Registrars must obtain accurate and reliable contact information from registrants to ensure accuracy in the domain registration records. Services like Privacy Protection are not permitted.

3. If the registry detects either inaccurate registrant information or proxy registrations/privacy protection or any other violation relating to accuracy of WHOIS information then specific action like suspension or deletion of such domains will be initiated.
